It's called Transformers G1 Awakening, and it looks ace

It's fair to say we were a bit lukewarm about the Transformers game that Glu Mobile released last year. It wasn't bad, as such, but it didn't live up to our expectations.

Thankfully, the company's having a second crack at it. At least, we assume it is. Click here to check out a photo on someone's Flickr account, taken at the recent BotCon Transformers convention in Ohio.

It's a flyer for a new Transformers game from Glu, called Transformers G1 Awakening. It promises turn-based strategic battles on Earth and Cybertron, with up to 23 playable characters.

Oh, and full-screen battle scenes, and two game modes: Story and Skirmish. According to the flyer, it's due out this autumn.

We're quite excited because it's a surprise to us. Presumably Glu wanted to build some buzz among hardcore Transformers fans before officially announcing the game, which sounds like a sensible strategy.

Rest assured, we'll have more details when more of the game, er, meets our robot-loving eyes.

Transformers the PS2 game, also known as Transformers Armada: Prelude to Energon, is arguably one of the most exciting and true to the series games available. Players must collect Mini-cons found in the open-world which can be equipped to transformers.

Transformers: Devastation is a PS3, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox 360 video game that launched back in October 2015. The game, which boasts colourful graphics inspired by the show, allows players to control one of five Autobots; Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Sideswipe, Wheeljack, and Grimlock. Players are required to battle Decepticons across the game’s seven chapters which are split into missions.

There are collectables to find, multiple difficulty levels, as well as a challenge mode to provide you with additional missions to enjoy. Now, doesn’t that sound great?

Transformers: G1 Awakening is a mobile Transformers game which was released in 2008 and was ported to iOS devices in 2010. G1 Awakening, which has since been pulled from the Apple Store, is a strategy and turned-based game in which the player controls Transformers characters and moves through a grid-like world while battling other transformers.

The mobile game includes a single-player mode, a multiplayer mode, and an arena mode for additional challenges. All of this will keep you busy for a long time, and that’s exactly what you want from a Transformers game.
